The School of Philosophy and Sociology Held a Special Training Meeting on Online Curriculum Construction

In order to make full use of the online teaching platform to develop student’s learning space, construct a new student-centered teaching model combining online and offline teaching, and improve the quality of education and teaching effectiveness, on the afternoon of April 1, the School of Philosophy and Sociology invited Ms. Li Minna and Ms. Han Ruixin (both of them came from the Dean’s Office), and Ms. Hou Ping who work for the superstar network platform, to give a  special training sessions on online course construction in Conference Room 349 of Qiyun Building.

Ms. Li Minna focused on explaining the policy of online curriculum work. She focused on the content of the "Lanzhou University Curriculum Online Construction Implementation Project" and explained in detail the goals and content of the construction, implementation steps, and safeguard measures of the work. The online courses construct an open, interactive, flexible and diverse classroom form through "setting up a team, building a space, unchoking a channel, perfecting a system, and promoting a change". She also gave detailed reply to the "teaching reform demonstration courses" and "curriculum ideological and political demonstration courses" raised by the teachers.

Ms Hou Ping showed teachers the specific process and methods of online operation through live demonstration. She first issued an online questionnaire to the teachers to learn about everyone’s cognition of the online course and platform functions and meanings, and then demostrated in detail how to build courses on the system, add chapters, upload course materials, use platform resources, classroom management, and score statistics. She pointed out that teachers can gradually form a model that combines "online" and "offline" through the network platform to guide students to carry out online independent learning, thereby forming a scientific academic evaluation system and improving students' comprehensive learning ability.

The atmosphere at the training meeting was lively and the teachers were enthusiastic about learning. The training will enhance the teachers' understanding of the online construction of courses, and provide effective help for the School's next education and teaching reform and improving the quality of talent training.
