On October 16, 2021, the 16th National Symposium on Hetuvidya was grandly held in Dunhuang, sponsored by The Professional Committee of Hetuvidya of The Chinese Logic Society, Dunhuang Academy and Lanzhou University, co-organized by China Tibetology Research Center, Buddhist Academy of Famen Temple and Buddhist College of Hangzhou, and organized by School of Philosophy and Society of Lanzhou University. More than 50 experts and scholars from more than 40 universities and research institutes across the country attended the conference.

There were two sub-sessions in this conference, and a total of 37 experts and scholars made thematic reports, covering a number of research directions of Hetuvidya Studies. The research on the literature of Hetuvidya touched on Chinese, Mongolian, Tibetan, Japanese and other documents, which showed the prosperity of the study of Hetuvidya in contemporary China and the vigorous atmosphere of the new era in a multi-dimensional manner, and played an important role of the academic seminar in leading the academic trend, cultivating talents and promoting the construction of the academic atmosphere.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Laxianjia, deputy director of the Institute of Religious Studies of China Tibetology Research Center. First of all, Pengmao Caidan, a lecturer from philosophy department of Shanghai Normal University, and Guo qiao, a professor from Henan University, respectively made a summary report on the discussion of the two conferences. Next, Zhou Wei, secretary general of Hetuvidya Professional Committee, made a summary of the meeting. Zhou Wei first expressed his gratitude to the staff and participants. Zhou Wei hopes to continue to strengthen the construction of The Study of Hetuvidya and promote the development of Chinese culture in both directions, and announced that the next Hetuvidya symposium will be held in Famen Temple, Shaanxi province in 2022. Later, Karwa Awang Sangbo, deputy director of the Professional Committee of Hetuvidya of The Chinese Logic Society, presented a hada to Shen Jianying, Liu Yanshou, Dong Zhitie, Yao Nanqiang and Chen Daode, five predecessors in the study of Hetuvidya in modern times, to express his gratitude and respect for their contributions to the study of Hetuvidya. Finally, vice acdemic dean of Buddhist Institute of Famen Temple ,Dashun gave a speech.

During the meeting, Zhang Xiaoxiang, deputy secretary general of The Hetuvidya Committee made a summary report on the work of the previous year from the aspects of teaching and research progress, scientific research achievements, talent training, social contribution and so on. Liu Yanshou presented calligraphy works to the meeting.
